The PopcornQ Film & Video Professionals List is
an e-group intended for use by film and video professionals
(makers, distributors, exhibitors and festival programmers,
bookers, journalists, etc.), with an emphasis on the
genre of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender motion
pictures and events. The list is also open to critical
discussions of issues in queer cinema, info about queer
film festivals, announcements of world-wide events in
film, retrospectives, and items of interest to film
professionals.
Realizing the need for a professional organization
for women to unite, create, share, grow, learn, give
and belong, POWER UP was created. Designed as a networking
group, POWER UP and its membership of talented, successful
and powerful women represent all fields of entertainment,
with occupations as diverse as the women themselves,
but with the common goal of unity.
The National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association
is an organization of journalists, online media professionals,
and students that works from within the journalism
industry
to foster fair and accurate coverage of lesbian, gay,
bisexual and transgender issues. NLGJA opposes workplace
bias against all minorities and provides professional
development for its members.
National Lesbian and Gay Law Association is a national
association of lawyers, judges and other legal professionals,
law students and affiliated lesbian, gay, bisexual
and transgender legal organizations. Established in
1988
and an affiliate of the American Bar Association since
1992, NLGLA sponsors year-round regional and local
events
throughout the United States. NLGLA has rapidly become
a national voice for lesbians, gay men, bisexuals,
and
transgenders in the legal profession. The Association
exists to promote justice in and through the legal
profession for the lesbian and gay community
in all its diversity.

OUTsource is a five-year-old, LA-based group of professionals
in the fields of Human Resources, Training/Organizational
Development, and Staffing that get together socially

The Network is a fundraising organization, which leverages
its events as opportunities for lesbian and gay professionals
from various disciplines to interact and socialize.
The Network represents a conglomerate of member groups
and individuals in New York City who provide a service
to the lesbian and gay community through a variety of
socially responsible and professional networking activities.
Our mission is to bring these groups together for biannual
fundraising events to build a stronger community and
effectively donate time and money to worthwhile organizations.

With over 1,100 members, Out Professionals is one of the biggest and most influential
gay and lesbian professional organizations. From useful workshops and in-depth
seminars to celebrity lectures and informal socializing, Out Professionals is
the must-have membership for anyone seeking social and networking contacts in
the New York area. OP Members work in advertising and public relations, banking
and finance, communications and marketing, computers and new media, entertainment
and television, film and video, journalism and publishing, and dozens of other
fields.
Founded in 1983, the New York Bankers Group promotes
networking and socializing among gay and lesbian banking
and finance professionals. NYBG creates unparalleled
networking opportunities and career assistance for
individuals striving to get ahead in an ultra-competitive-and
often homophobic-industry. NYBG provides professional
and personal resources that after-work drinks with
work colleagues simply cannot provide.
GPPN's mission is to provide a social, career and business development channel
for the gay and lesbian professional community. For 10 years GPPN has sponsored
regular networking events, speakers, workshops, summertime fun, and a newsletter
serving the region's gay professional community. Our members reside in Pennsylvania,
New Jersey, and Delaware and represent a diverse array of industries and professional
experiences.
CPNA (Chicago Professional Networking Association)
began in 1987, when a small group of business professionals
decided to begin meeting on a monthly basis to
share information and support for gays and lesbians in the workplace. Today,
CPNA continues to provide a place for gay and lesbian professional people to
meet, network, and help each other succeed while being responsibly involved
in the gay and lesbian community. Our current membership
is more than two hundred
strong and continues to grow.
The Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago is a nonprofit membership organization
of judges, attorneys, law students, and affiliated law workers. The organization
has five purposes: to provide opportunities for members of the lesbian and gay
legal community to meet in a supportive, professional atmosphere to exchange
ideas and information; to further the professional development of gay and lesbian
legal workers; to educate the public, the legal profession, and the courts about
legal issues of particular concern to lesbians and gay men; to empower members
of the gay and lesbian communities by improving access to the legal and judicial
system and sponsoring education programs; and to promote and encourage the advancement
of lesbians and gay men in the legal profession.
