The mission of OUTFEST is to build bridges among audiences,
filmmakers and the entertainment industry through the
exhibition of high-quality gay, lesbian, bisexual and
transgender themed films and videos, highlighted by
an annual festival, that enlighten, educate and entertain
the diverse communities of Southern California.
Founded in 1988, The New Festival, Inc. is a non-profit
media arts organization that presents the annual New
York Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, one of the most
comprehensive forums of international lesbian, gay,
bisexual, and transgender film/video in the world.
MIX NYC: seeks to integrate the lesbian, gay and experimental
film communities by creating an innovative festival
that serves as a home for both established and emerging
makers while promoting and encouraging the awareness,
making, and preservation of work that challenges and
expands our vision of media and the world.

IMAGE's mission is to build
and support a strong media arts community in Atlanta and the Southeast by promoting
the production, exhibition, and public awareness of film and video and unique
forms of artistic expression.
The mission of Reeling is to recognize the important artistic
contributions that lesbian and gay filmmakers have made to our culture; to
educate the general population and sensitize them to lesbian and gay issues;
to investigate the history of gays and lesbians in film, including the stereotyping
that has been a major part of this history; and to counteract this stereotyping
with valid, meaningful and diverse portrayals of gays and lesbians.
Ultimately, festival organizers aim to bring queer students together, promote
and encourage awareness, and provide a forum for cultural discourse that allows,
through experimental media, a greater social understanding.

local opportunity to see these films.
The Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, a critically
acclaimed event, is held in the world-renowned historic
South Beach neighborhood and features films by, about
and of interest to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender
communities. Additional screenings, educational and
social events occur throughout the year.

Reel Affirmations Film Festival is the third-largest GLBTQ film festival in the United States. Founded in 1990, the festival is a non-profit, all-volunteer event. RA is sponsored by One In Ten, a non-profit organization dedicated to education and cultural activism on behalf of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning individuals. One In Ten presents pioneering works by artists; builds market structures to produce and distribute gay and lesbian artistic works; financially supports individual artists or projects; and works to preserve a record of the community's accomplishments and strivings.
